Aurora 12 blasts off, carrying Edan, Chrisnic, and Orlas to Mun!
“Can you believe it! I’m going to Mun! We’re all going to Mun!”
-Orlas
Orlas is excited!

Development begins on Explorer (not to be confused with the Explorer Space Probe.) Explorer is the prototype vehicle for a future Eve mission! While the actual mission to Eve will likely be several components, Explorer’s first mission will consist of just the main spacecraft.
Explorer will be launched without a crew, which will arrive via a Crew Shuttle! This is necessary given the new design.
Once the crew arrives, the vehicle will leave Kerbin’s orbit, entering interplanetary space, in orbit of the Sun, then return.
If all goes well Explorer will be the basis for future crewed planetary missions! A full working mockup of the Explorer’s Habitat Section will be launched soon as an upgrade to the KSS – this should allow ‘real world’ testing of the crew module.
Additionally, construction begins on the next Aurora Mission, Aurora 12!
Aurora 11 blasts off – carrying Val, Glenica, and Kimmy to orbit! This will be both Glenica and Kimmy’s first trip to Mun!
Arriving at Mun, the team waits for the sun to shine on the landing site before heading down!

The mighty Sarnus-V carries Aurora 10 to orbit!
The original 3 astronauts; Jeb, Bill, and Bob will fly to Mun!
Bill is quite excited – even though he’s been with the space program since it’s early days, he’s only done missions in low Kerbing orbit. This will be his first Mun mission!
After some basic orbital manuvering, Jeb fires the engines for the transfe to Mun!
After the docking and transposition maneuver, the crew gets comfy for the short journey to Mun!
Aurora 10 arrives at Mun!
Jeb sets the lander down… and Bill hops right out!
“Wow! It’s great here! The low gravity makes it feel like you’re flying!”
-Bill
The two pose for their landing portrait, and start collecting scientific data! Aurora 10 set down in the Mun’s Northwest Crater – a first for Kerbals!
After several hours gathering Science, Bill and Jeb blast off in the lander, headed back to the Aurora 10 spacecraft! A short rendeavous and docking later, and the three are on a return trip to Kerbin! Setting down in the plains of Kerbin at night, the crew is rescued. Good work everyone!
Construction begins on Aurora 10 – the next Mun Mission! Crew not yet assigned.
Aurora 9 returns home!
After climbing out of the Aurora Command Pod, the crew celebrates the most successful mission yet!
After a long, long day, Mitster and Bob return to the Aurora Spacecraft! Aurora 9 sets history as conducting the most scientific research of any launch – making 5 seperate landings on Minmus.
After rendezvousing, a return trip is plotted back to Kerbin.
“We should be there in no time!”
-Mitster
Aurora 9 orbits Minmus, and the lander detaches to head down!
Mitster lands the Aurora Lander, and Bob hops out!

“Minmus is great! You can hop everywhere you go! ”
-Bob

The guys pose for their landing portrait, then head back to the lander, to set down at the various locations scientists back on Kerbin want to investigate!
Aurora 9 takes off!
Chrisnic, Bob, and Mitster wait patiently for their encounter with Minmus!
Construction of Aurora 9 begins – the tentative plan is another launch to Minmus to scout out several interesting sites. Aurora 9 will be the first test of the upgraded Mun lander, which should provide more fuel efficiency and a more compact design.
Meanwhile, a few standard communication satellite launches keep the crew at KSC entertained!
