The spacecraft docks! Fortunately, Lobert watching at Mission Control, notices something is off in the mission parameters!

“So I did the math guys… I am pretty sure they don’t have enough DeltaV to complete the mission with that rover attached!“

The rest of the Space Center engineering staff looks at the numbers… Lobert is right!

““Everybody secure? Disconnecting docking clamps!“We have some sharp eyed Kerbals down here Aurora 30! Lobert spotted some problems… you need to eject that rover! And after that … we’ll need you to do the transfer burn using the lander engines!“

Next, everyone holds on as the lander’s engine fires!

“Um, should our eyes feel like this??“

Aurora 30 soars off toward Minmus! In just a few days the first tourism mission will arrive!

Year 24, Day 6 (Aurora 30 Crew Launches!)

After a short training period, the winners of the planet-wide raffle Urberry, Guswin, and Siski board the Aurora 30 Crew Vehicle – piloted by veteran pilot Malcolm!

“Oh wow! I can’t believe we’re going to Minmus!“

The N-2 Booster lifts higher and higher, carrying the first tourist journey into space!

“Lift good… solids are away!”

N-2 rises to a 100k apoapsis…

…and circularizes into a stable orbit!

“We have a good orbit.. .welcome to space everyone! Separating from booster… Mission Control N-2 is yours!”

“Roger that Aurora 30… we have a good connection with the booster! Starting re-entry procedures!”

The N-4 Neidon III booster streaks east, heading toward the Space Center!

Lately, KSEA has been having troubles with the Neidon Booster landings! Most of these have been calculation errors. The most serious of these was the catastrophic loss of the N-8 booster that nearly impacted the VAB! As a result, re-entry vectors are now being calculated to keep the boosters at a safe distance.

This time, touchdown looks good! Until the engine shuts off and…

The rocket starts to slowly teeter over! SAS and RCS systems kick in automatically, but they are not enough to stabilize the rocket!

“Oh, calamity! Let’s get some recovery teams out there! Hopefully the booster is not too badly damaged!”
