KSEA launches a Mk4 Scan/Relay Satellite to orbit! This probe is intended to travel to the Sarnus system, to hopefully investigate the Sarnusian moon of Slate.
The transfer window to Sarnus won’t be available for a few months however!

The (very) large Jool Ultra rocket launches, carrying Pathfinder 10 to orbit!

Once in orbit, the (also enormous) transfer stage fires, propelling the rover-probe to Sarnus!

The high speed journey to Sarnus will be a relatively short one – just 3 years, arriving in Year 16!

Sarnus Surveyor arrives near Sarnus and performs maneuvers designed to navigate several of the gas giant’s moons!

The images sent back are breathtaking!

Eeloo, the first Sarnusian moon to be investigate will sadly have to wait until another pass… the sun blocks the probe’s power and the probe drifts on by!
The Sarnus Surveyor probe enters the Sarnus System! In 29 days the spacecraft will fire its engines and do a flyby of Sarnus itself and the moon of Eelo!
Frontier 2 is instructed to attempt to dip into the atmosphere of Sarnus! The probe will go down to an altitude of 576k, an altitude that some scientists fear might be fatal to the probe!
Thankfully the probe didn’t enter deep enough to be burned to a crisp – and KSEA engineers find new insights about Sarnus – such as how the atmosphere is so incredibly light that if there were an ocean big enough, Sarnus would float! Next up for Frontier 2, a wider orbit will be reached, and an attempt to encounter Tekto! KSEA estimates this will exhaust the probe’s fuel.

Frontier 2 does a long-distance flyby of Tekto! While the probe has enough fuel to enter orbit, scientists are more interested in the other moons of Sarnus for the time being. The more advanced Sarnus Surveyor will hopefuly be able to map the surface of Tekto!
Frontier 2 adjusts its orbit to encounter Tekto! Toe encounter will be in 11 days!

Frontier 2 approaches Sarnus…

Closer…

and closer!
Finally, the craft fires its engines to circularize its orbit – extremely close to the rings of the distant, mysterious world!

Onboard systems relay amazing new findings about Sarnus that scientists on Kerbin will be pouring over for years!

Slowly, the probe’s long and eliptical orbit takes it away from Sarnus!

but the adventure isn’t over quite yet, the craft’s trajectory will take it into the gravitational sphere of Eeloo, one of Sarnus’s (many)moons!
Sarnus’s magnificent vista doesn’t fail to impress!

Frontier 2 silently passed by Eeloo – while the probe is not equipped with the modern scanning hardware of the Surveyor probes, Frontier 2 dutifully scans what it can.
The moon Slate can be seen in the distance.
What an incredible day for science! The most recent accomplishments of the space program have inspired all of Kerbin!
The first Sarnus Surveyor leaves for Sarnus! Once the probe reaches the Sarnus system, scans will be done to determine which moon is the most promising. Future probes will certainly follow!

The Sarnus Surveyor is the next probe to launch – this time a night launch! The window to Sarnus is in 34 days – the craft will stay in a parking orbit until then!
It’s thought that the Sarnus Surveyor will have enough fuel to explore much of the Sarnus system… however a specific target hasn’t been decided, a maneuver en route will adjust the approach once KSEA decides where to send the probe!
