Mirphe, Gilian, and Sean launch in the Resolute on a service mission to the KSS!
Resolute (which was recently given nifty navigational lights) is the first of two Heavy Cargo Shuttles operated by KSEA. Due to a planning oversight on Station Life Support a Heavy Cargo Shuttle was chosen to carry an emergency life support mission to the station!
“This payload is pretty heavy, there won’t be any room in the fuel budget to spare this mission!”
-Mirphe
Thankfully Resolute eventually arrives the station… and not a moment too soon!
“Wow – I forget how big the Heavy Cargo Shuttle is until I see it up next to the Kerbin Space Station – these are some large spacecraft being docked!”
-Mirphe

Success! Resolute docks with the KSS, at the Utility Docking Port! Station Crew immedeatly start moving supplies over to the station.
“Nice docking Mirphe!”
-Jeb

Resolute undocks, leaving the supply module attached to the station.

“Time to head home – call the Space Center if that module gives you any trouble!”
-Sean

Resolute screams through the clouds, heading toward the Space Center!

“Going pretty fast! Hold on everyone, this might be a bumpy landing!”
-Mirphe

Resolute touches down, and at the last moment veers slightly off the landing strip!

“Hmph! Almost a perfect mission!”
-Mirphe

Kimmy and Gilian return to Harmony Space Station! They’ll rest for a few days before the next landing.

…and docking goes surprisingly uneventfully!
Samner and Robart prepare to head home… (Robart takes the long way, enjoying an EVA before heading home) while Gilian and Kimmy prepare for the next Harmony Space Station landing! Scientists are still figuring out the best location for HSSLS02!
Samner, Val, and Robart head home!
The upgraded Resolute takes off! Val pilots rookie engineer Seely and Gillian up to orbit! This will be Resolute’s first flight using the upgraded Launcher, and with the new Cargo Bay arrangement!

The module goes into place, and Unity Space Station is ready to go!

Uh oh. There’s a small problem! Looks like the Habitat Module wasn’t equipped with a communications device. What a disaster! But… there might be hope.
KSEA decides to green light the mission – in fact, this will allow testing of a new cargo module for the Crew Shuttle program! The small module will allow a small cargo payload to be carried behind the shuttle, and once emptied will still allow crew to move through the module! It should also solve the problem of where to put solar panels on the crew shuttles. Endeavor is rolled out, and has some antennas put on it that can easily be detached in orbit. No one’s ever tried something quite like this! Rookie engineer Gillian says she’s practiced just this kind of thing underwater, and assures it can’t be that much more difficult in orbit!
